Get to know us

Our story began in 2014, with a simple but powerful mission: to start conversations, challenge conventional thinking, and initiate meaningful change in Pakistan's evolving media landscape.

At a time when media was rapidly transforming, we recognised the need for a space that could bring together ideas, people, and new ways of storytelling. That vision became the Centre for Media Development (CMD).

Since then, we have grown, evolved, and worked across media development, journalism, research, training, strategic communications, and content production. We have engaged with journalists, young storytellers, communities, institutions, and media professionals—always with the belief that media can do more than simply report change. It can help shape it.

Over the years, our journey has taken us from conversations and classrooms to newsrooms and communities, and from research to the field—documenting real people and telling stories that often remain unheard.

More than a decade later, our mission continues to evolve with the media landscape.

We are still asking questions. Still starting conversations. Still telling stories. And still working to create change.

This is CMD.
